|Community Service in Leavenworth and Lake Wenatchee
One of the reasons I'm proud to be associated with Windermere is our committment to local communities. I try and get involved in community projects whenever I can and have spearheaded a few of my own. Twice a year I organize a litter pickup along a section Highway 2 near Nason Creek and Lake Wenatchee that I've adopted.
In 2004 I began coordinating the Leavenworth food drive for the NCW Association of Realtors. A large part of the success is students from Icicle Middle School and Osborn Elementary who help collect food. Realtors and Realtor Associates also collect food in front of Dan's Market and the Leavenworth Safeway. I am really happy with the contribution we are able to make every year to Leavenworth's Community Cupboard and their patrons.
Each year in June Windermere holds a community service day throughout the West. Each office adopts a local project that gives us a chance to give back to the communities in which we work and live. In 2006 we helped paint a house in Dryden being built through Habitat for Humanity.
In 2007, our office helped build another house for Habitat for Humanity. This year's house is in Plain in the Ponderosa neighborhood. We helped put in floor joists and subfloor for the second floor.
