Leavenworth is a small town located in the upper Wenatchee Valley. The town lies at the base of the Cascade mountains at 1200 feet, surrounded by 5000' to 8000' peaks. Population is currently about 2500, though the nearby communities of Plain and Lake Wenatchee, bring the local population to about 6000.
In addition to the surrounding natural beauty, most visitors notice the Bavarian theme. In the 1960s, local business leaders adopted the theme in an attempt to draw tourists to this former logging and mining hub. Their gamble worked. Over 1 million visitors come each year for shopping, outdoor recreation, and numerous festivals. In 2003, A+E Network named Leavenworth Washington - Holiday Town USA.
All sorts of real estate opportunities exist in the Leavenworth area. Condominiums, waterfront properties, log homes, vacation homes, horse acreage – there's probably something for you.
Lake Wenatchee sits among the Cascades approximately between Stevens Pass and Leavenworth. The lake is fed by the glacially sourced White and Little Wenatchee Rivers. Flowing from the lake is the Wenatchee River. Recreational opportunities abound. Popular activities include skiing and snowmobiling, boating, hiking, and golfing.
Lake Wenatchee properties range from condominiums and small recreational cabins to large waterfront estates. Undeveloped land is also available for you to build the log home of your dreams.
Cashmere is named after the Kashmir Valley of India, also known for its natural beauty. Today's visitors often remark about the traditional "old fashioned" downtown. Located along the banks of the Wenatchee River, Cashmere is just fifteen minutes west of Wenatchee. Cashmere's main industry remains fruit production – apples, pears, and cherries. The town's population is just under 3000.
Cashmere properties become more popular every year. Locals enjoy good schools, proximity to the mountains and Wenatchee, and rural small town living. Opportunities range from small first time homes to larger vacation homes and horse property.
